The major in mathematics leads to the degree of Bachelor of Arts
(BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS). A flexible curriculum allows
students to prepare for teaching careers, employment in areas
such as actuarial science, computer science, engineering and
statistics or graduate school. The major offers an option of an
emphasis on secondary education. All mathematics students interact
closely with faculty due to our small class sizes.
The major in physics leads to a Bachelor of Science (BS). In
addition, supporting courses and general education courses in
physics and astronomy are available for students with a wide
spectrum of interests, backgrounds and needs. Students can
choose a special emphasis in one of the areas: physics, engineering,
chemical or biophysics, secondary education, physics/math double
major.
Both mathematics and physics can be taken as a minor for students
who want a specialized science minor.
