PHYSICS OPTIONS

All non teaching majors do research under the supervision of one of the faculty. The results of this research project are presented in a senior thesis and at a physics seminar.
Several of our students have obtained undergraduate internships to do research at national labs and major universities.

The standard physics option is a perfect way to prepare for graduate school in physics or a related discipline, but some have used this degree option to prepare themselves for employment or for running a business.

The physics/engineering option prepares graduates with the best of two worlds--the analytical skills of physics and the applied skills of engineering.  Graduates with this degree option are highly qualified for employment in industry.

Teaching options prepare students for certification as secondary science teachers by the Colorado Department of Education.

Interdisciplinary options allow students to combine their major in physics with studies in mathematics or another science.

The physics minor is an excellent minor program for students majoring in chemistry, biology, mathematics, technologies and business.
